- Do I need to pay for the virtual career fair?
All employers will be charged to attend the ChicagoJobs.com LIVE! virtual networking career event. However, because the event takes place online, there are no costs for food, travel or lodging, making it very affordable.
- Where do I go to attend the virtual career fair?
This is an online, virtual career fair, so all you need to do is sit in front of your computer, visit ChicagoJobs.com/LIVE and login using the username and password you entered during registration.
- How will I receive information regarding the virtual career fair?
We will be sending out emails to all registrants with important information regarding the virtual career fair, including computer tests, login information and links to access the virtual environment. To ensure you are receiving all of our emails and they aren't being delivered to your spam folder, please add us to your contacts/address book: chicagojobs@theonlinexpo.com.
- What if I miss the live career fair? Is there any way to still access it at a later date?
You will not be able to access the career fair after the Live date. However, we will be holding future events in which we encourage you to plan on participating. Please refer to chicagojobs.com/LIVE for those dates.
- What are the minimum requirements for my computer that I will need to participate?
To interact with the online environment requires a Windows PC with Internet Explorer 6.0 minimum, or Firefox 3.0 to 3.0.19 and 3.6. With a Mac, we require Firefox 3.0 to 3.0.19 and 3.6 and Safari 3.1 or higher. In addition, we support Windows XP and Windows Vista on PCs. Leopard, Tiger, and Snow Leopard are supported on Macs. Linux Fedora Core 10 is also a supported operating system. Macromedia Flash Player 10 or higher is required. Access to the Internet using high-speed access (Cable, DSL, Network) is highly recommended for the overall environment and is required for all presentations. Pop-up blockers must also be disabled and cookies and JavaScript should be enabled. Upon entering, a system check is run that will identify computer requirements that need to be addressed to interact with the online show. It is recommended to view the environment with the display resolution of 1024 x 768. To run the system check, click here.
Before you access the career fair, you should ensure that your browser is configured to stream media. All webcasts require a broadband connection. For video events, you will need a minimum Internet connection of 750Kbps and above.
NOTE: We do not support beta versions of browsers. Also, Internet Explorer 6.0 and Linux are not supported in the XpoCast Presenter View.
- Will I still be able to participate if my company has a corporate firewall in place?
In most cases, firewalls will not pose a problem. You should be able to participate in the entire event, even if your company has a firewall in place. A list of computer tests and below.
- Port Test
- Confirm that proper firewall ports are open. If this test fails, you will not be able to chat with job seekers within the virtual environment. If this fails, click here for more details.
