Ogilvy hires for executive jobs in Chicago

Ogilvy announced some key hires this week for executive jobs in Chicago.

The global communication firm said today the appointment of four leaders has been made across four specialty areas – healthcare, corporate communications, technology and digital influence.

“We’ve extended the office’s growth path through the addition of new talent with unique expertise,” said Nathan Friedman, managing director of Ogilvy PR/Chicago. “All of our new team members enhance Chicago-based capabilities while adding new perspectives to current client relationships.”

Chicago IT jobs on the rise, according to survey

A new survey out shows that Chicago IT jobs are increasing dramatically.

With more than 220,000 new jobs posted online over the past 30 days, Computer Programmers are the most in-demand position, according to WANTED Analytics (www.wantedanalytics.com), the leading source of real-time business intelligence for the talent marketplace. This represents a 26% increase over the same time period in 2010.

Within Computer Programming, Computer Systems Analysts lead the hiring demand with 40,000 new job ads placed online over the past thirty days, a year-over-year increase of 24%. Other high-demand positions were Web Developers, with 32,000 new jobs posted in the past 30 days (a 21% increase from 2010) and Computer Software Engineers, with just over 28,000 new job ads placed (a 29% increase versus prior year). Chicago jobs record big year-over-year increases

Chicago jobs continue to increase year after year, according to recent stats from the BLS.

In April, 237 metropolitan areas reported over-the-year increases in nonfarm
payroll employment, 126 reported decreases, and 9 had no change. The largest
over-the-year employment increase was recorded in Dallas-Fort Worth-Arlington,
Texas (+83,100), followed by Houston-Sugar Land-Baytown, Texas (+51,100),
Chicago-Joliet-Naperville, Ill.-Ind.-Wis. (+37,100), and Los Angeles-Long
Beach-Santa Ana, Calif. (+36,200).
